TraceListener.WriteLine Method (String, String)

Writes a category name and a message to the listener you create when you implement the TraceListener class, followed by a line terminator.

Namespace:  System.Diagnostics
Assembly:  System (in System.dll)
public virtual void WriteLine(
	string message,
	string category
)

Parameters

message
Type: System.String

A message to write.

category
Type: System.String

A category name used to organize the output.

The typical line terminator you might implement is a carriage return followed by a line feed (\r\n).

Supported in: 4.5, 4, 3.5, 3.0, 2.0, 1.1, 1.0

.NET Framework Client Profile

Supported in: 4, 3.5 SP1

Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 (Server Core Role not supported), Windows Server 2008 R2 (Server Core Role supported with SP1 or later; Itanium not supported)
