starts-with Function (Compact 2013)

Returns True if the first argument string starts with the second argument string; otherwise returns False.

Syntax

boolean starts-with(string, string)

Parameters

  • string
    A string.
  • string
    A string.

Return Value

Returns True if the first argument string starts with the second argument string; otherwise returns False.

Remarks

If an argument is not of type string, it is first converted to a string and then evaluated.

The following function call returns True.

starts-with("mysampletest", "mysample")
