Unable to build shortcut '<shortcut>' into the global assembly cache; shortcuts are not permitted in the global assembly cache

The deployment project cannot be built because a shortcut has been placed in the Global Assembly Cache folder. Only strong-named assemblies can be placed in the global assembly cache.

To correct this error

  1. Double-click the error message in the Task List to go to the shortcut in the File System Editor.

  2. Move the shortcut to a different folder.
