NoteNote

In the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 release, the recommended practice is to create XmlReader instances using the System.Xml.XmlReader.Create method. This allows you to take full advantage of the new features introduced in this release. For more information, see Creating XML Readers.

The following example displays all attributes on the current node.

public void DisplayAttributes(XmlReader reader)
{
  if (reader.HasAttributes)
  {
    Console.WriteLine("Attributes of <" + reader.Name + ">");
    for (int i = 0; i < reader.AttributeCount; i++)
    {
      reader.MoveToAttribute(i);
      Console.Write(" {0}={1}", reader.Name, reader.Value);
    }
    reader.MoveToElement(); //Moves the reader back to the element node.
  }
}

public void DisplayAttributes(XmlReader reader)
{
    if (reader.get_HasAttributes()) {
        Console.WriteLine("Attributes of <" + reader.get_Name() + ">");
        for (int i = 0; i < reader.get_AttributeCount(); i++) {
            reader.MoveToAttribute(i);
            Console.Write(" {0}={1}", reader.get_Name(),
                reader.get_Value());
        }
        reader.MoveToElement();
    } //Moves the reader back to the element node.
} //DisplayAttributes
