Constant was not upgraded

Visual Studio .NET 2003

In some cases, constants used in Visual Basic 6.0 have no equivalent in Visual Basic .NET. During upgrade, constants are converted to their .NET equivalent where possible. If the property, method, or function to which the constant applies was not upgraded, the constant cannot be upgraded. For example, Drag constants are not upgraded because drag-and-drop code is not upgraded.

What to do next

  • Check your code to determine how the constant is being used. If it applies to a property, method, or function that could not be upgraded, remove the line of code.
  • If the context for the constant is still valid, check the value for the constant in your Visual Basic 6.0 application, and replace the constant with the value.
