Requesting a New HealthRecordItem Type

To request a new HealthRecordItem type, send an e-mail message to hvType@microsoft.com containing the following information: 

• Name of the type

• A description of the type: what it is, how it will be used

• For each piece of data within the type:

  • name

  • type

  • maximum size

  • is this a required field?

The HealthVault platform also allows the development of custom types whose schema are identified solely by a GUID. More information about authoring a custom type is available in the MSDN Dev Center.
