World-Ready Software Example

This application and source code sample, designed for Windows 2000 and Windows XP, demonstrates the different aspects of software globalization such as:

  • A single executable with world-wide functionality (fully Unicode enabled).

  • Locale independency by using Windows NLS APIs to display data (dates, numbers, time, etc.) within a user's desired format.

  • Multilingual editing using standard edit controls.

  • Multilingual input locales within edit control fields.

  • Font selection and effect on displayed data.

  • Multilingual user interface and satellite DLLs.

To set up and run the example, download and run GDSetup.EXE (177 KB). Note that this code will run only on Windows 2000 and Windows XP platforms.
