Nope, I never had any aspirations of being a professional athlete. Ok, that's not true. I did want to play tennis for a living. I also wanted to be a rock star, but who didn't? I even had the long hair and jean jacket with patches from Metallica, AC/DC, etc. and all. That's a stark contrast from my genetically inspired shaved head! Even though I'm the youngest pup on my team (they never let me forget it), I can't remember a day when computers weren't a part of my life. Since my dad was a Computer Science major in the 70s, I can't remember a day when "computer" wasn't in my mind. I had a computer in the house before most people knew what a PC was. My first computer was an Osborne running CP/M. I've had an interesting journey from then to now. Somehow, I landed here at Microsoft as an Evangelist focusing on all things dev (primarily Visual Studio, .NET Framework, and Silverlight). It's like being a kid again. I get a new toy, dismantle it, and figure it out. The difference is that I now paid to go around and talk to people about how cool the proverbial toy is. |
