Is my intellectual property safe at the PAC?The short answer is yes. Visitors to the PAC can use secure private offices. Intellectual property brought to these offices remains the visitor's property, and need not be disclosed to Microsoft or to anyone else. These private offices are secured both at the physical and network levels. Offices are locked, and the office computers are separated from each other and the main Microsoft network by firewalls. In some ways, the PAC is a demilitarized zone. It's on the main Microsoft campus, and connected to the main Microsoft network, but it's isolated from the campus and the network by access controls and firewalls. The building itself is not accessible to the general public, or even to general Microsoft employees. Every visitor to the building needs special authorization.
