Cumulative Update

As of December 2010, BizTalk Server has moved towards the Cumulative Update model for BizTalk Server 2009 and BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0.

Newly Released

2564013  FIX: A hotfix is available that provides additional Delivery Mode properties for the Minimal Lower Layer Protocol send and receive adapters in BizTalk Accelerator for HL7 in a BizTalk Server 2010 environment.

This hotfix adds the option to use Transport Acknowledgements instead of Application Acknowledgements to HL7. When the hotfix is installed, the Use MLLP Transport Acknowledgement property is exposed in the MLLP Transport Properties. When this property is set to True, there is a significant performance improvement when processing documents.


A fix has been released to address the 0x80131700 error code that you might get when starting or configuring the Enterprise Single Sign-On Service (ENTSSO).

To resolve this issue, install the 2252691 fix-- Update for Microsoft Enterprise Single Sign-On v4 (KB2252691)--on the ENTSSO server.

BizTalk 2006 R2 Service Pack 1 includes many fixes. We recommend that all BizTalk Server 2006 R2 users install it. For the download location and a list of what fixes are included, refer to the following links:

There have been some questions concerning rollback. A BizTalk service pack includes file updates and executes SQL scripts against the BizTalk databases, just like a BizTalk hotfix. As a result, uninstalling from Add/Remove Programs will not roll back the service pack. If this is a concern, back up all BizTalk databases before installing. Known Issues with BizTalk Server 2006 R2 SP1

  • Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) Tracking for the Flat File Dissembler stops tracking any data. The following blog also provides information about this issue: http://blogs.msdn.com/biztalkcrt/archive/2010/02/11/update-on-kb967765-included-in-r2-sp1.aspx. To resolve this issue, you can do one of the following:
  • When the WCF-SQL adapter available in BizTalk Adapter Pack 2.0 is being used on a receive location, the receive location may fail with error: (System.MissingMethodException) Method not found: 'System.Configuration.ConfigurationElement. This issue has been fixed in the BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Service Pack 1 Cumulative Update.
  • The XMLReceive pipeline is using a schema to disassemble a message. When the document root element has no elements or data and there are distinguished or promoted attributes within the schema, you may see an error: The disassembler found an envelope that does not have the body element. Subdocuments within the message are written as:

     

    To resolve the error, you can do one of the following:

    • Modify the message to be the following:
    • Install a hotfix that will be documented in KB article 981967.

To address missing references in a BizTalk 2009 project, two fixes have been released:

977428 FIX: You experience various problems when you develop a BizTalk project that references another BizTalk project in Visual Studio on a computer that is running BizTalk Server 2009.

979153 FIX: BizTalk Server 2009 Orchestration Designer incorrectly indicates that there is an error in a BizTalk Server 2009 project.

We have released a couple of fixes within Visual Studio:

977260 A "Not implemented" error occurs when you run a basic source control command for a BizTalk Server 2009 project in the Visual Studio 2008 IDE that uses Visual SourceSafe 2005

979438 FIX: You cannot deploy a BizTalk Server application in Visual Studio when the Restart Host Instances property is set to True

HIPAA 5010 standards are now supported in BizTalk Server 2009:

973415 A hotfix is available that enables support for HIPAA 5010 standards in BizTalk Server 2009.
