Developer Academic Alliance Memberships

Developer Academic Alliance (Developer AA), formerly referred to as MSDN Academic Alliance Membership, is designed to provide the easiest and most inexpensive way for universities to make the latest Microsoft software available in labs, classrooms, and on student PCs.

Developer AA is an annual membership program for departments that use technology in support of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses. Membership provides a complete, inexpensive solution to keep academic labs, faculty, and students on the leading edge of technology.

Developer AA membership enables STEM departments to outfit their machines with the latest Microsoft development tools, operating systems, server software, documentation, and technical references. In addition, students in the department will have complete access to these tools and references for use on their personal computers.

A Developer AA Membership offers STEM departments numerous benefits including:

• Access to the latest set of Microsoft platforms, servers, and developer tools.
• License to install the software on any number of lab machines used by the department for instructional and research purposes.
• License to provide the software to students taking courses that lead to credit or a certificate within the member department.
• Four technical support incidents (varies by region) in addition to access to the managed newsgroups and the Online Concierge.

All memberships include the exact same rights and number of products.

MSDN AA/Developer AA (DVD) - 1 Year

• MSDN AA/Developer AA (DVD) One Year Membership includes physical and electronic delivery of all MSDN AA titles to the Program Administrator for one (1) year.
• Program Administrators will receive physical delivery of media each month.
• Keys and certain software upgrades can be obtained via the MSDN subscriber download site.
• Recommended distribution mechanisms for your campus include manual CD duplication, CD loaning, and/or electronic distribution via the creation of a local download server (software provided).
• Administrators will provide verification for authorized students and faculty.

MSDN AA/Developer AA (Download) - 1 Year

• MSDN AA/Developer AA Download One Year Membership includes electronic delivery of all Developer AA titles to the Program Administrator for one (1) year.
• Program Administrators will receive all Developer AA products and License Keys electronically via the MSDN subscriber download site.
• Recommended distribution mechanisms to students and faculty include the creation of an automated burn station (software provided) or a customized download site (software provided).
• Administrators will provide verification for authorized students and faculty via the submission of names or User IDs into their chosen automated distribution mechanism.

MSDN AA/Developer AA (DVD) - 3 Year

• MSDN AA/Developer AA DVD Three Year Membership includes physical and electronic delivery of all Developer AA titles to the Program Administrator for three (3) years.
• Program Administrators will receive physical delivery of media mailed each month.
• Keys and certain software upgrades can be obtained via the MSDN subscriber download site.
• Recommended distribution mechanisms for your campus include manual media duplication, media loaning, and/or electronic distribution via the creation of a local download server (software provided).
• Administrators will provide verification for authorized students and faculty.

MSDN AA/Developer AA (Download) - 3 Year

• MSDN AA/Developer AA Download One Year Membership includes electronic delivery of all Developer AA titles to the Program Administrator for one (3) years.
