The < operator is a binary operator that tests the relationship between two operands.

Operator Description

The < operator is predefined for the Number, Character, Text, Date, DateTime, Time, and Collection types, as well as all their subtypes. For Number, Character, Text, Date, DateTime, and Time types, the < operator returns true if the left operand is less than the right operand. Otherwise, it returns false.

For collections, the < operator returns true if the left operand is a strict subset of the right operand. Otherwise, it returns false.
