How to: Send Feedback about Visual Studio 

You can provide Microsoft and the Visual Studio team with valuable feedback about the features included with Visual Studio. You have two possible methods of giving feedback: by completing an online form and by participating in the Visual Studio Customer Experience program.

Report Bugs, Make Suggestions, Give Feature Feedback

If you would like to provide the Visual Studio team with specific feedback on a feature, report a possible bug, or make feature suggestions, you can easily do so from within the Visual Studio product. You must have an active Internet connection and a Passport account to provide product feedback.

To send Microsoft specific feedback on Visual Studio

  1. On the Community menu in Visual Studio, click Send Feedback.

    The Microsoft Connect Web site appears.

  2. Click Feedback near the bottom of the page.

  3. On the next page, click Submit Feedback.

  4. If prompted, enter your Passport information.

  5. On the Terms of Use page, click I agree.

  6. If prompted, enter your information on the Registration page and then click Register.

  7. Follow the directions on the following pages.

    To report a bug in the product, use the Bug Submission Form.

    To make a suggestion or to provide feedback about a feature, use the Suggestion Submission Form.

Volunteer Usage Information

You also can choose to participate in the Visual Studio Customer Experience program. This program allows Microsoft to track anonymous information about how you use Visual Studio. The Visual Studio team then can use this information to improve the next version of the product. You are automatically prompted to participate in the customer experience program the first few times you use Visual Studio. If you chose not to participate at first, you can follow the steps below to begin participation at any time.

To participate in the Visual Studio Customer Experience program

  1. On the Help menu, click Customer Feedback Options.

  2. In the Customer Experience Improvement Program dialog box, select Yes, I am willing to participate in the Customer Experience Improvement Program.

You can stop participating in the Visual Studio Customer Experience program at any time.

To stop participation in the Visual Studio Customer Experience program

  1. On the Help menu, click Customer Feedback Options.

  2. In the Customer Experience Improvement Program dialog box, select No, I would not like to participate.
