Reuse_Comment Initialization Variable

Visual Studio 2005

Specifies Yes to display the most recent comment when you are prompted, and No (default) to allow you to type in a new comment at the prompt.

Reuse_Comment = {Yes|No}

When Visual SourceSafe prompts you for a comment, if you do not have the Comment_Template set, the comment is initially blank. You can set the Reuse_Comment variable to Yes to automatically fill in the comment field with the most recent comment you have entered. Using this setting makes it easy to use the same comment repeatedly.

You can set this variable in your Ss.ini file directly or in Visual SourceSafe Explorer. In Visual SourceSafe Explorer, use the SourceSafe Options dialog box, General tab. Select the Reuse last comment check box to set this variable to Yes.

Allows you to type in a new comment:

Reuse_Comment = No
