DataControlCommands Class

Note: This class is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

The DataControlCommands class contains public fields that all ASP.NET data-bound controls use, to promote a consistent user interface (UI). This class cannot be inherited.

Namespace: System.Web.UI.WebControls
Assembly: System.Web (in system.web.dll)

public sealed class DataControlCommands
public final class DataControlCommands
public final class DataControlCommands

The DataControlCommands class contains public fields for data-bound control command names. The class constructor is private, so you cannot create an instance of the class; however, because it only contains const string resources, you can use it and its public fields just as you would any static class.

Using the command names of the DataControlCommands class enables all the ASP.NET data-bound controls and their respective designer classes to use the same string resources for common commands, such as "Edit" or "Update", and correctly handle events posted by an IPostBackEventHandler instance. The following classes use the DataControlCommands:

System.Object
  System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataControlCommands
Any public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.

Windows 98, Windows 2000 SP4, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP SP2, Windows XP Starter Edition

The .NET Framework does not support all versions of every platform. For a list of the supported versions, see System Requirements.
