String.System.IConvertible.ToType Method

This method supports the .NET Framework infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code.

Converts the value of the current String object to an object of a specified type.

returnValue = CType(instance, IConvertible).ToType(type, provider)

JScript supports the use of explicit interface implementations, but not the declarations of new ones.

Parameters

type

The type of the returned object.

provider

An IFormatProvider object.

Return Value

The converted value of the current String object.
Exception typeCondition

ArgumentNullException

type is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

InvalidCastException

The value of the current String object cannot be converted to the type specified by the type parameter.
