ProtectedMemory.Unprotect Method

Note: This method is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Unprotects data in memory that was protected using the Protect method.

Parameters

encryptedData

The byte array in memory to unencrypt.

scope

One of the MemoryProtectionScope values.

Exception typeCondition

PlatformNotSupportedException

The operating system does not support this method. This method can be used only with Microsoft Windows 2000 or later operating systems.

This method can be used to unencrypt data in memory that was encrypted using the Protect method.

Support for this method is available in Microsoft Windows XP and later operating systems.

The following code example shows how to use data protection.
