SocketPermission Methods

The methods of the SocketPermission class are listed here. For a complete list of SocketPermission class members, see the SocketPermission Members topic.

Public Methods

public methodAddPermission Adds a permission to the set of permissions for a transport address.
public methodAssert (inherited from CodeAccessPermission) Declares that the calling code can access the resource protected by a permission demand through the code that calls this method, even if callers higher in the stack have not been granted permission to access the resource. Using Assert can create security vulnerabilities.
public methodCopy Overridden. Creates a copy of a SocketPermission instance.
public methodDemand (inherited from CodeAccessPermission) Forces a SecurityException at run time if all callers higher in the call stack have not been granted the permission specified by the current instance.
public methodDeny (inherited from CodeAccessPermission) Prevents callers higher in the call stack from using the code that calls this method to access the resource specified by the current instance.
public methodEquals (inherited from Object) Overloaded. Determines whether two Object instances are equal.
public methodFromXml Overridden. Reconstructs a SocketPermission instance for an XML encoding.
public methodGetHashCode (inherited from Object) Serves as a hash function for a particular type, suitable for use in hashing algorithms and data structures like a hash table.
public methodGetType (inherited from Object) Gets the Type of the current instance.
public methodIntersect Overridden. Returns the logical intersection between two SocketPermission instances.
public methodIsSubsetOf Overridden. Determines if the current permission is a subset of the specified permission.
public methodIsUnrestricted Checks the overall permission state of the object.
public methodPermitOnly (inherited from CodeAccessPermission) Prevents callers higher in the call stack from using the code that calls this method to access all resources except for the resource specified by the current instance.
public methodToString (inherited from CodeAccessPermission) Overridden. Creates and returns a string representation of the current permission object.
public methodToXml Overridden. Creates an XML encoding of a SocketPermission instance and its current state.
public methodUnion Overridden. Returns the logical union between two SocketPermission instances.

Protected Methods

protected methodFinalize (inherited from Object) Overridden. Allows an Object to attempt to free resources and perform other cleanup operations before the Object is reclaimed by garbage collection.

In C# and C++, finalizers are expressed using destructor syntax.

protected methodMemberwiseClone (inherited from Object) Creates a shallow copy of the current Object.
