Property Value

A ConfigurationAllowExeDefinition value indicating where in the configuration file hierarchy the associated ConfigurationSection object may be declared for .exe files.

AllowExeDefinition applies only to configuration files of client applications. For Web applications you must use AllowDefinition.

The following code examples show how to get the AllowExeDefinition property value after accessing the related section information in the configuration file.

Get the SectionInformation.

// Get the current configuration file.
System.Configuration.Configuration config =
        ConfigurationManager.OpenExeConfiguration(
        ConfigurationUserLevel.None);

// Get the section.
UrlsSection section =
    (UrlsSection)config.GetSection("MyUrls");

SectionInformation sInfo =
    section.SectionInformation;

Get the AllowExeDefinition value.

ConfigurationAllowExeDefinition allowExeDefinition =
                sInfo.AllowExeDefinition;
Console.WriteLine("Allow exe definition: {0",
   allowExeDefinition.ToString());
