IntegerValidatorAttribute Class

Note: This class is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Declaratively instructs the .NET Framework to perform integer validation on a configuration property. This class cannot be inherited.

Namespace: System.Configuration
Assembly: System.Configuration (in system.configuration.dll)

[AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Property)]
public sealed class IntegerValidatorAttribute : ConfigurationValidatorAttribute
/** @attribute AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Property) */
public final class IntegerValidatorAttribute extends ConfigurationValidatorAttribute
AttributeUsageAttribute(AttributeTargets.Property)
public final class IntegerValidatorAttribute extends ConfigurationValidatorAttribute

You use the IntegerValidatorAttribute to decorate a configuration property, which will instruct the .NET Framework to validate the property using the IntegerValidator object and pass to it the value of the decorating parameters.

You may apply IntegerValidatorAttribute objects to property types only.

The following example shows how to decorate the properties of a custom ConfigurationSection object using the IntegerValidatorAttribute object.

[ConfigurationProperty("maxAttempts", DefaultValue = 101,
    IsRequired = true)]
[IntegerValidator(MinValue = 1, MaxValue = 100,
    ExcludeRange = true)]
public int MaxAttempts
{
    get
    {
        return (int)this["maxAttempts"];

    set
    {
        this["maxAttempts"] = value;
