ComponentRenameEventHandler Delegate

Represents the method that will handle a ComponentRename event.

Namespace: System.ComponentModel.Design
Assembly: System (in system.dll)

[ComVisibleAttribute(true)]
public delegate void ComponentRenameEventHandler (
	Object sender,
	ComponentRenameEventArgs e
)
/** @delegate */
/** @attribute ComVisibleAttribute(true) */
public delegate void ComponentRenameEventHandler (
	Object sender,
	ComponentRenameEventArgs e
)
Not applicable.

Parameters

sender

The source of the event.

e

A ComponentRenameEventArgs that contains the event data.

When you create a ComponentRenameEventHandler delegate, you identify the method that will handle the event. To associate the event with your event handler, add an instance of the delegate to the event. The event handler is called whenever the event occurs, unless you remove the delegate. For more information about event-handler delegates, see Events and Delegates.

NoteNote:

The HostProtectionAttribute attribute applied to this class has the following Resources property value: SharedState. The HostProtectionAttribute does not affect desktop applications (which are typically started by double-clicking an icon, typing a command, or entering a URL in a browser). For more information, see the HostProtectionAttribute class or SQL Server Programming and Host Protection Attributes.

The following example demonstrates registering a ComponentRenameEventHandler and handling the ComponentRename event.

public void LinkComponentRenameEvent(IComponentChangeService changeService)
{
    // Registers an event handler for the ComponentRename event.
    changeService.ComponentRename += new ComponentRenameEventHandler(this.OnComponentRename);
}

private void OnComponentRename(object sender, ComponentRenameEventArgs e)
{
    // Displayss component renamed information on the console.
    Console.WriteLine("Type of the component that has been renamed: "+e.Component.GetType().FullName);
    Console.WriteLine("New name of the component that has been renamed: "+e.NewName);
    Console.WriteLine("Old name of the component that has been renamed: "+e.OldName);
}

public void LinkComponentRenameEvent(IComponentChangeService changeService)
{
    // Registers an event handler for the ComponentRename event.
    changeService.add_ComponentRename(new ComponentRenameEventHandler(this.
        OnComponentRename));
} //LinkComponentRenameEvent

private void OnComponentRename(Object sender, ComponentRenameEventArgs e)
{
    // Displayss component renamed information on the console.
    Console.WriteLine("Type of the component that has been renamed: "
        + e.get_Component().GetType().get_FullName());
    Console.WriteLine("New name of the component that has been renamed: "
        + e.get_NewName());
    Console.WriteLine("Old name of the component that has been renamed: "
        + e.get_OldName());
} //OnComponentRename
