Two Types of Setup: Interactive and Unattended
You can perform two types of setup for Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point of Service (WEPOS):
- Interactive Setup, where you supply information step-by-step as the Setup wizard displays dialog boxes on the screen. You'll probably want to use this if you're installing WEPOS on only a few computers.
You can use command line switches with Setup to record your responses in an answer file for later use with unattended setup, and to create a log file for error-logging purposes. For more information, see Running the Command Prompt on the Setup CD and WEPOS Setup Command Line Switches.
- Unattended Setup, where you supply information in an answer file so that Setup can run automatically. You'll probably want to use Unattended Setup if you're installing WEPOS on multiple computers or from a remote server. For more information about writing an answer file for unattended setup, see Creating an Answer File.
