Visual C++ supports the following reference types:

  • .NET assemblies

  • Projects (.NET and non-.NET assemblies)

  • COM objects

Unlike Visual Basic and Visual C#, Visual C++ distinguishes between project references and assembly references, that is, Visual C++ supports non-.NET assembly project references.
