SQL Server 2005

Gets or sets the application database properties, which includes any specified data files and log files.

Namespace: Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Nmo
Assembly: Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo (in microsoft.sqlserver.smo.dll)

public ApplicationDatabaseOptions ApplicationDatabaseOptions { get; set; }
/** @property */
public ApplicationDatabaseOptions get_ApplicationDatabaseOptions ()

/** @property */
public void set_ApplicationDatabaseOptions (ApplicationDatabaseOptions value)

public function get ApplicationDatabaseOptions () : ApplicationDatabaseOptions

public function set ApplicationDatabaseOptions (value : ApplicationDatabaseOptions)

Property Value

An ApplicationDatabaseOptions object that specifies the application database properties.

Specifying application database properties is optional. If you do not specify an existing database, and you do not set application database properties, Notification Services uses default settings for creating new databases. For more information about default values, see Defining the Application Database.

The following example shows how to set the database options for a Notification Services application:

// Create ApplicationDatabaseOptions object
ApplicationDatabaseOptions adb =
    new ApplicationDatabaseOptions(myApplication, "MyAppDB");

// Define and add a filegroup
ApplicationDatabaseFileGroup adb_fg =
    new ApplicationDatabaseFileGroup(adb, "PRIMARY");
adb.ApplicationDatabaseFileGroups.Add(adb_fg);

// Define and add a database file
ApplicationDatabaseFile adb_file1 =
    new ApplicationDatabaseFile(adb_fg, "MyApp_PrimaryFile1");
adb_file1.FileName = @"C:\NS\Full\MyApp_PrimaryFile1.mdf";
adb_file1.InitialSize = "10MB";
adb_file1.MaxSize = "50MB";
adb_file1.GrowthIncrement = "10%";
adb_fg.ApplicationDatabaseFiles.Add(adb_file1);

// Define and add a log file
ApplicationDatabaseLogFile adb_log =
    new ApplicationDatabaseLogFile(adb, "MyApp_LogFile1");
adb_log.FileName = @"C:\NS\Full\MyApp_LogFile1.ldf";
adb_log.InitialSize = "5MB";
adb_log.MaxSize = "20MB";
adb_log.GrowthIncrement = "10%";
adb.ApplicationDatabaseLogFiles.Add(adb_log);

// Define database options
adb.CollationName = "Latin1_General_CS_AS";
adb.DefaultFileGroup = "PRIMARY";

// Assign options to ApplicationDatabaseOptions property
myApplication.ApplicationDatabaseOptions = adb;

Any public static (Shared in Microsoft Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
