Test Mode Values - AdControl for Windows 8.0

Microsoft Advertising Services

Updated: September 20, 2013

Published: June 4, 2013

Test values for the ApplicationId and AdUnitId properties must be used during development. This allows you to see how the app is receiving and rendering advertisements.

Live ads will not show in the emulator.

The size of ads delivered to the app is defined in Microsoft pubCenter. For best results, make sure that the Width and Height properties of the AdControl match the ad unit size that you choose in pubCenter.

For all testing:

  1. Use the ApplicationId d25517cb-12d4-4699-8bdc-52040c712cab

  2. Use an AdUnitId from the Test Mode Values Table below

System_CLiX_warning Warning

Live ads are not available in the emulator. You must use test values for the ApplicationId and AdUnitId when running in the emulator. To verify live ads, you will have to run the app on a device with the ApplicationId and AdUnitId set to the values for your ad unit from pubCenter.

If you try to use test values in your live app you will receive no ads. To receive live ads you must set the ApplicationId and AdUnitId to the values for your ad unit from pubCenter.
