X509Certificate Constructor (Byte[], String)

Note: This constructor is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

Initializes a new instance of the X509Certificate class using a byte array and a password.

Parameters

rawData

A byte array containing data from an X.509 certificate.

password

The password required to access the X.509 certificate data.

Exception typeCondition

ArgumentException

The rawData parameter is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

The length of the rawData parameter is 0.

ASN.1 DER is the only certificate format supported by this class.

Security noteSecurity Note

Never hard code a password within your source code. Hard-coded passwords can be retrieved from an assembly using the MSIL Disassembler (Ildasm.exe), a hex editor, or by simply opening the assembly in a text editor such as Notepad.exe.
