UserLocale (Standard 7 Package Reference)

UserLocale specifies the per-user settings used for formatting dates, times, currency, and numbers in a Windows installation.

This setting is used during Windows Setup and Windows Deployment Services.

Users can change this value on a running Windows installation, by using the Regional and Language Options program in Control Panel.

Note

This setting can be applied only during the windowsPE configuration pass. To specify language and locale settings during the oobeSystem or specialize pass, see the UserLocale setting in the International-Core component.

Note

This setting is required for all unattended installations. To prevent the Windows Setup user interface (UI) from displaying, you must configure this setting. For a complete list of required settings, see Configure an Answer File to Be Unattended.

Values

User_locale

Specifies the user locale to use during Windows Setup or Windows Deployment Services.

User_locale is a string based on the language-tagging conventions of RFC 3066.The pattern language-region is used, where language is an ISO-639 language code and region is an ISO 3166-1 country or region identifier, for example, en-US, fr-FR, or es-ES.

This value is not case-sensitive.

This string type supports empty elements.
