Windows Embedded Core (Standard 7 Package Reference)

Windows Embedded Core is the smallest deployable image of Windows Embedded Standard 7. It contains boot critical drivers and basic support for security, servicing, and networking. This section describes the Windows Embedded Core settings that you can configure in an answer file.

Note
When developing an image, you must also include at least one language pack and exactly one each of the following types of feature packages:
- Boot environment: Enhanced Write Filter Boot Environment or Windows Boot Environment
- Edition branding: Unbranded Startup Screens or Windows Embedded Standard Startup Screens
- Shell: Command Prompt Shell with Custom Shell Support or Windows Explorer Shell
- USB stack: Bootable Windows USB Stack or Standard Windows USB Stack
