oobeSystem (Standard 7 SP1)

7/8/2014

The oobeSystem pass configures settings that are applied during the first-boot experience for end-users, also known as Windows Welcome. oobeSystem settings are processed before a user first logs into Windows Embedded Standard 7.

Out-of-Box-Experience (OOBE) runs the first time that the user starts a new computer. OOBE runs before the Standard 7 shell or any additional software runs, and performs a small set of tasks that are required to configure and run Standard 7.

The following illustration shows how of Windows Welcome works.

You can configure Standard 7 to start Windows Welcome by running sysprep /oobe. By default, after you run Image Builder, Windows Welcome starts.
