Building a Localized Run-Time Image (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/6/2010

After you create an OS design and localize it, you can choose the language that you want the associated run-time image to be localized in.

For more information about localizing an OS design, see OS Localization. For more information about which locales have localized resource files in Platform Builder, see Locales for Localized Run-Time Images.

To build a localized run-time image

  1. From the Project menu, choose Properties.

The Property Pages dialog box appears.

  2. In the left pane, choose Configuration Properties, and then choose Locale.

  3. On the Locale page, from the Locales list, select the languages you want to support.

Each language that you select includes the associated code pages for that language, and populates the list in the Default Locales box.

  4. In the Default Locales box, select the default language for your run-time image.

By default, the default language is set to English (United States).

  5. Make sure that Localize the build is selected, and then choose OK.

  6. From the Build menu, select Global Build Settings and then verify that the following flags are selected.

    • Copy Files to Release Directory After Build
    • Make Run-Time Image After Build
  7. From the Build menu, choose Rebuild and Sysgen.

For more information about the options, see OS Design Property Pages: Locale.
