How to Set Up a CEPC (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

A Windows Embedded CE PC-based hardware platform (CEPC) is a standard development board (SDB) based on the x86 microprocessor. Unlike other SDBs, a CEPC does not have a standard hardware configuration. Because a CEPC is similar to a desktop computer, you have the flexibility to add or remove memory, hard disk drives, video cards, Ethernet cards, USB controllers, and other hardware. With the CEPC's flexible hardware configuration, you can easily evaluate Windows Embedded CE features that you are considering adding to your OS design.

Hardware and Software Assumptions

  • You are familiar with how to add hardware to and remove hardware from desktop computers.
  • You are familiar with how to configure basic input/output system (BIOS) settings.
