Viewing the FBALOG.TXT File

5/10/2007

First Boot Agent (FBA) creates the FBALOG.TXT file that you can use to troubleshoot errors in the FBA process. If you have a kernel debugger attached while FBA executes, the logging information is also forwarded to the debugger. This file gives you a view of what ran during FBA, and the general order, but does not specifically list the phase number. It lists each event, such as registered binary files, networking protocols, Plug and Play devices, and any errors. Most FBA error codes correspond to standard Win32 errors, so they can be interpreted by using Win32 error codes.

To view the Fbalog.txt fi

  • After FBA runs, navigate to the Windows\FBA directory on the target device, and then open FBALOG.TXT.
  • After FBA runs, navigate to the Windows\FBA directory on the target device, and then open FBALOG.TXT.
