FBA Continually Reboots the System

5/10/2007

Learn what to do when FBA continues to reboot the system.

Resolution

  • If the system was previously configured with an EWF volume, FBA is unable to reset the EWF overlay and continually reboots. Delete the EWF overlay before running FBA.

Use Diskpart to delete the preexisting EWF volume. For more information about Diskpart, see Configuring a Hard Drive with Diskpart and Windows PE.

Optionally, if you included ETPrep in your run-time image, you can use the etprep /delete command to delete the EWF volume.
