Dial-up Server for Windows
The Dial-up Server for Windows component provides the infrastructure necessary to implement a limited Remote Access Server (RAS) on this computer. The Remote Access Server can accept a single dial-up or virtual private network (VPN) connection from a remote client computer to the private network to which this computer is connected. The remote computer then functions on the private network as though the remote computer were connected to the network directly. Neither domain authentication nor radius authentication are supported; the remote user must have a local account on this computer.
This component will launch the Routing and Remote Access service, which provides the core features of a RAS server, and the Remote Access Connection Manager, which monitors status of the incoming connections.
This component depends on the Dial-up Common component.
No Dynamic Hypertext Markup Language (DHTML) user interface (UI) is present to configure the component.
