Windows .Net Messenger
The Windows .Net Messenger component provides Windows Messenger for Windows XP. Depending on the hardware and features that you include in your Windows-based device, this component provides messaging features that allow end users to perform the following tasks:
- View users who are online
- Send an instant message
- Call a contact's computer and communicate using video
- Send a file to another user
- Send a message to a pager
- Conduct an instant message conversation with a group
- Invite someone to play a game or use Microsoft Remote Assistance
- Receive notifications of events requested events
