Lab Overview: The Microsoft Lync 2010 Controls SDK includes the new Lync Controls for WPF and Silverlight. These controls are used to integrate Microsoft Lync 2010 features into WPF and Silverlight applications, including contact search, contact list, contact presence and click-to-call for IM and audio.

In this lab, you will use the Lync Controls to:

  • Display a contact’s presence in an application.
  • Start instant messaging and audio conversations with the contact.
  • Integrate the Lync 2010 contact lists into an application.
  • Integrate the Lync 2010 contact search.
  • Display a custom list of contacts.

System Requirements

You must have the following items to complete this lab:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
  • Microsoft Lync 2010
  • Microsoft Lync 2010 Controls SDK
  • Two accounts (referred to as the primary and secondary lab users in this document), provisioned for Lync Online that are able to successfully sign in to Lync 2010.
