Developing Windows Azure Media Services Applications

Updated: August 28, 2013

The content in this section provides task-based documentation that shows you how to get started developing applications based on Windows Azure Media Services. There are two main approaches to developing applications with Media Services. For programmers working with .NET languages, you can use the Windows Azure Media Services SDK for .NET. To make direct REST API calls rather than using an SDK, or to use programming languages outside of the .NET Framework, use OData and the Media Services REST API.

The following two series show you how to start developing media applications and to accomplish typical developer tasks for either approach.
