How to: Add a Submenu
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
If you add several related forms or other objects to the menu, you might want to use a submenu to organize and identify the group. Submenus enable you to specify how related menu items appear in the Navigation Pane and the area page. The following steps show how to add a submenu.
To add a submenu to the menu
Expand Menus, right-click the menu you want to customize, click New, and then click Submenu. A submenu node is added to the menu.
Click the new submenu and then use ALT+UP ARROW or ALT+DOWN ARROW to specify the location of the submenu in the menu.
To add a form or other types of object to the submenu, you add the menu item for the form or object. To add a menu item to a sub menu, use the AOT to drag the menu item onto the submenu. You can also right-click the submenu, click Menu item, and then populate the properties of the menu item.
In the AOT, right-click the parent menu, and then click Save.
Warning
To view the submenu in the Navigation Pane or area page, you have to restart the Microsoft Dynamics AX client.
