Microsoft Dynamics AX relies on an installation of Microsoft SQL Server.
In addition to standard relational database functionality, Microsoft Dynamics AX features enable you to do the following:
View historical data by using cubes.
View current data by creating reports.
Have the system track data relationships per time span with the valid time state feature.
Simplify joins by having tables inherit from other tables.
Cache the tables and records for faster performance.
